This was painted entirely on location in the small town of Calhoun, Ga (NW Georgia). This town has origins based on what is now the CSX rail line shown in the painting at the crossing of court street. I was drawn by the afternoon sun (behind me) lighting up the main street type buildings before me, and that the rail road crossing in the foreground helps tell the story of this town.
