Autumn Dance of Color

Autumn Dance of Color, Watercolor & Gouache
Autumn Dance of Color
What inspired me to this painting was the textures and, of course, the breathtaking colors. I never get tired of the subtleties of the change of colors, values, and temperatures.
I have been experimenting with Indigo ArtPaper and have been very happy with the results. The rough texture complements the rural landscapes.
QoR paints are the watercolor of course in my studio. Their color depth and purity are a few reasons they are my favorite. The colors I used for this painting: cadmium yellow medium, brown madder, sap green, burnt sienna, cobalt blue, and ultramarine blue. The brown madder mixed with the yellow medium makes wonderful variations of gold and brownish-golds which truly portray the woods in the fall.
