I went to Pea Island in the Outer Banks of NC in early December of 2021 to see the migratory birds. This painting was done from video I took of the Avocets and Godwits in flight simultaneously. The rush of energy that these birds have while in flight is often triggered by the heavy sand trucks that traverse up and down the nearby two lane road known as Highway 12.
