This piece began as a plein air painting, much to the delight of the residents, commuters, tourists, hipsters, and homeless. Throughout its creation, I was reminded of how what we do, surprises people and offers them a fresh lens and renewed appreciation on our shared backyard. After multiple plein air sessions, it was completed in the quiet contemplation of my studio.
