Catching the birds

Equestrian vaulting is an amazing combination of gymnastics and horseback riding. I am amazed by this ancient type of skill and witnessed performances of the best masters in several countries of the world. At this rare occasion when the girl was performing on the horse, several pigeons suddenly flew into the whirlpool of the air stream and while trying to get out, the whole group appeared flying together. In order to emphasize the movement of each subject I chose linen with transparent/clear gesso and didn't paint any background.
