Still Life With Urn and Berries

Designing a still life is a process. For me I choose something that inspires me. In this painting, it was the fresh cut berries. I ran around the house collecting things that I thought might compliment them and then put them in a big pile on your painting surface. I stack them high, low, drape pearls, remove items, so several mini black and white sketches and continue the process of adding and removing until it speaks to me.
