Eternal Feminine

This is one of four paintings exhibited at the Florence Biennale this past October. The Theme of the Biennale was Eternal Feminine. To me, the four paintings exude self confidence... being comfortable in our skin. They demonstrate loving ourself and others. But they are much more that that. Living in Italy for a year brought me back to my roots. (My father liked to quip that his children were born in New York, made in Italy.

Even the colors that I use are reflections of my past. There is a classic Italian painting quality to the works, which are done in oil and incorporate small pieces of gold leaf as well. I feel really blessed that I was able to live in Luca for a year... A beautiful city, surrounded by hills with a fun, vibrant, and interesting community.
