The Copper Cauldron

My sister found this well-used copper cauldron at a thrift store and gave it to me. I loved the dents and the range of colors on its surface. I thought of what a workhorse it had been cooking family meals above an open fire. I painted it over two days, alla prima, as the snow fell outside my Pennsylvania home. If I hadn't been painting it, I might have cooked a hot stew in it instead!
