Faces of Zion

I worked from photo reference taken in the narrows of Zion park. Using transparent watercolor,I mostly worked shape by shape, pooling the water and floating the paint on top , as well as many transparent layers. A ways into the painting I started to see faces and partial features, ( a face, and eye , partial faces, a hawk or eagle), I thought about adding more or embellishing them, but decided against it, they were already there.
