Winter Apple Tree

A plein air piece I started in my in-laws' backyard on Thanksgiving. It started on one panel, I just wanted the bottom of the tree, but as the painting went on I knew it needed more, I grabbed a spare panel I brought and began the top section. It was unfortunately not the same size as the first one, but I did it anyway. I took the painting home, thought about redoing it on one panel, and decided I liked the look of the seam between the panels. I just need to add some narrow piece on the ends to complete the rectangle. I built a cradle that would accommodate the several panels and headed back to the in-laws' to complete the piece at the next opportunity, which happened to be christmas eve.
