Miles Away

This painting created while the model posed and I painted. Oils on Linen, and allowing some of the linen's warmth to shine thru. To play against the flow of the figure and flowers, a section of a framed painting is used as a backdrop, for it's delicate surface of filagree, to reflect the figure's gentle quality, yet structured manmade form, so the “free flowing lines” of the figure had something to play against. I love creating not only subjects, but also allowing the brush work to support the quiet energy as seen in this painting.
