Inspired by a plein air sketch done on a bike ride, I saw 3 American Egrets landing in a shallow estuary and was so inspired by the scene, I decided to do a finished piece in the studio. My mother was an ornithologist and this gave me an interest in birds and nature. I love to bring my art materials on vacation and sketch what catches my eye.
