Painted from a plein air sketch off the bike trail I spotted two herons landing in a small waterway. I did a quick drawing and then, later, a finished oil painting using a pallet knife. I tried to capture the nature of the birds searching for dinner side by side. It was a wonderful moment and why I love plein air. Every painting holds a memory.
